African VC Expands into DACH Markets
THE Customer: Leading African VC/PE Fund
THE CHALLENGE
Our client is a prominent Pan-African private equity and venture capital firm. While they boast an impressive track record and deep investment expertise across Africa, they faced a specific challenge: expanding their investor base into the German, Austrian, and Swiss (DACH) markets. They lacked an established network to directly engage with private sector investors in these regions for their various funds. This presented a significant hurdle, as securing new capital requires not only a compelling investment thesis but also direct, trusted access to relevant institutional and conglomerate investors.
OUR SERVICE
As strategic fundraising and setup partner, we leveraged our deep DACH market access and established investor network to bridge the gap between our Pan-African VC/PE client and the DACH investor community. Our approach began with a systematic and granular identification process to pinpoint investors whose mandates and strategic interests aligned precisely with the client's investment strategies across three distinct funds. From there, we initiated targeted outreach, actively establishing first contact and building the trust-based connections necessary for productive fundraising conversations. Throughout the full fundraising lifecycle, we provided hands-on support, preparing our client for investor discussions, addressing the specific requirements of DACH investors, and facilitating the follow-ups needed to progress commitments through to close.
THE RESULT
Our targeted approach and direct access to the DACH investor landscape yielded significant success. We facilitated the successful raising of a substantial investment of EUR 4,000,000 from a leading German conglomerate/investor for one of our client’s funds.
This successful mandate not only secured crucial capital but also firmly established the presence of the Pan-African investment firm within the strategically important DACH investor market, laying the groundwork for future fundraising efforts and demonstrating AVA’s unique ability to bridge capital flows between Europe and Africa.
